Before You File

What You Should Know Before Filing Bankruptcy

Many of the clients I work with have questions about how to file for bankruptcy. Filing for bankruptcy is a fairly straightforward process but there are some things you should know before filing. At the Fairfield, Ohio law office of R. Dean Snyder, Attorney at Law, I try hard to make the process as simple as possible.

Other firms require clients to fill out extremely long and overly detailed worksheets prior to their initial consultations. Not me. All the information I require before our first meeting is gathered using a series of five documents that are one or two pages in length. You can find all of these documents on my forms page.

What Information Will I Need to Collect?

You will need to gather complete information about your assets and debts as well as your income and expenses. This information is required for all Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings. Having this information assembled as early in the process as possible will make the entire process much more efficient.

I will work with you to ensure that we have all of the information we need to complete your bankruptcy petition. If there is any information that you don't have or can't find, I can help you obtain copies or alternative documentation. When you hire me as your lawyer, you can count on me to be there with you from start to finish.
